Ashley Bland is a native of Westmoreland County, Virginia. Ashley was formerly a math teacher at Elkhardt-Thompson Middle School before becoming an Instructional Technology Resource Teacher (ITRT). She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she gained two bachelor’s degrees in biomedical engineering and physics and a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction. Ashley completed her graduate coursework through the Richmond Teacher Residency, an urban teacher residency designed to close the achievement gap for Richmond students.
Ashley was also recently named Elkhardt-Thompson's teacher of the year for the 2019-2020 school year. Outside of school, Ashley enjoys being a mom to a busy toddler, cooking, singing and crafting. |
